The First step
by Debby Zunta
The sounds of wheels made me happy.
GESSTTTT... GESSTTT. Sounds so fantastic. The train ran very fast. Took me into a new story in my live. What will happen to me? Just guess, guess did not change my story.
Time was walking, and I must run.
I was in the way
going to Yogya. The special place in Indonesia. Yes of course it was special.
Everyone said, If you had gone there it will take you back again and again. Maybe it maybe happen to me. I was so curious. Logawa screamed again.. tuttt tuttt.. gessttt.
It needed three
hours to reach Yogya from my city. I seen so many things in the way, field,
cave, mountain, mountains, it were all incredible. I was sit inside of an old man. He looked a happy old
man, alone but looked so fresh. I can see there are so many greats experience in his life. He is
looking at me now and started to talking.
“Hey girl, where
is your destination?”
“Yes sir. I want
to go to Yogya.”
“ Are you a
student?”
“ Yes, I am a
student. How about you sir, where will you go?”
“I will go to Kutoarjo,
I life there.”
“ Yes, I see.”
We silent. I was thinking about Yogya. What will happen to me? The most important in my life was friend. I prayed about my worry. I hope I can meet a or some great friends. I meant friends who can
understand me so I can I understand them. God please sent me the people. I wondered.
It still one
hour left. The old man just fall asleept and some of the passangers also sleept. I can’t
sleep. I was still wandering. It felt so long to me and I started to miss home
even though it just one hour left. I was listening to michael Bubble song. I thought I played a
wrong song.
May
be surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
I can’t avoid. It touched my heart now. I remembered about my parents. I went so far from my wishes and I must be a success woman. So,
What will happen to me... it’s all up to me.
“girl, look this!”
“Yes.”
He show me his wallet with a women photo there.
“
How old her?”
“
I think she is about 45 years(?)”
“
Ha Ha Ha,..” He is so happy, maybe I am right.
“
No, She has been 60 years old? She is my wife.. Do you think that I am very
smart in take care her?”
“
Ahh, yes I see sir?”
He started to talk
bla bla bla about her beloved wife, grandchildren, and I know that he had worked
for the train company so he gets discount. He showed me the ticket. I didn’t know
what was his essence to show me that but I thought that I
only need to
listen him. Yes, old people need to be listened. He was smiling along the story. He looked so proud to have this life. Maybe I will be like that in my old age.
Teng teng tong
teng.... “ladies and gentleman Logawa
arrive in Wates station. The passanger who ended the trip in Wates, please
prepare your belonging”. I had arrived in Wates regency, 30
again before Yogya and I was sit alone. Actually I sit in front of two people, but I wss lazy to greet
because they looked so enjoy
with their self or maybe I was too enjoy
with my self. Faster please... faster, faster.
I was feeling the
spirit was flowing into my blood. I said to my self that I was ready for the Journey.
My first step on Yogyakarta city and the story had begun.
