Okay! Let’s get started. It
was November
14, 2019. MUN started with the opening ceremony, yes ‘getting
to know you’ time. The
ceremony opened with the theme called MUN 101. It was a gathering
of all the delegates, Chair, and the
commitee. The Council would
start the following day. I hadn’t told you that there were four councils here. They were UNESCO,
UNWOMEN, UNDP and UNGA.

My Aimunc Geng |
Let me introduced my AIMUNC geng. From
the left. the first was me, followed
by Dhini, Ernita, Qintara, and Ida.
We were all
Indonesians.
There were also
two guys. I would show you in another
photo below . The two guys were Rafi and Firman.
In that moment, Mr. Tarik and Ms. Prily outlineed the
procedure for the following day. Mr.Tharik was the chair and Ms. Prily was the co
chair in UNESCO. To understand better, you must read the guideline properly
before the MUN. Everything had been detailed there. A student suggested that I should join the Local MUN; but I didn’t have the time.

Friday, November 15, 2019 was the day for the council session. It was a full day event. There were two topics , atheism and the right of information. But we had to choose one. The topic
was chosen by
voting. To vote, the chair would ask about two things, “voting” or “present and
voting”. Voting meant you could agree, disagree, or pass about the motion. If you chose ‘voting and present’ it meant you had to either agree or disagree.
Every delegate was
given a placard that contained the name of the country that one represented. The
placard was also used to vote. You had to raise the placard high, so the chair could notice. You were
prohibited to mention your name. It
was because you represented a country not yourself. Let me give you an example:
raised the placard and then the
chair give you time so say “the delegate of Barbados present and voting”.
In my case, the topic chosen was atheism. It was very
complicated
you must know.
We had to
make many resolutions that could be applied to every country and it should not contravene the internal policy of any
country. You
know, atheism is a very sensitive issue. Country like China would be very pro with that idea but other like
Pakistan would find it really hard to accept.. To make any proposal, you had to do research first.

My favorite photos were taken with Mr. Tarik and Ms Prily. I really loved both of them. On their instagram accounts, I saw that MUN was
really their passion. They travelled around the world to
promote that and they said as the chair they would be fully funded.
Their public speaking skill was damn good. The way they explained was clear. I
loved when
Mr. Tarik said “Lovely” and Ms.Prily said “Crystal clear”.

Ms. Prily (Co-chair) and me after the council ended |
After
the council ended
that night, we went for a
cruise dinner along
the Chao Phraya River. One thing that I really loved in
thailand was the food. There were lots of sea food and fruits. I
loved
them so much
till I couldn’t hold any more with my hands. Ernita and me were
food lovers. We were
never shy,” hahaha we pay for it lah; rugi if
take less”.

Saturday,
November 16, 2019 was the day for
the city tour
and the closing
ceremony. The city tour was going to Wat Arun Temple. We went there by Elf, a car doubled up like a tourist bus, and then we crossed the
Chao Phraya rive by boat. For the closing ceremony we must wear our traditional national dress. I wore
Batik, the most simple piece of cloth.
